•
ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 29, 2006
The SHEP group did a spectacular reclamation project. The program has
improved water banks and native vegetation. They collected habitat and
insect samples from Hardwood Creek near the north and south ends of
County Road 14 to see if and what the differences are. They are banking
the information collected. There have also been evaluations done at
Clearwater Creek and Rice Creek. Friends of the Mississippi chose where
to sample.
Mr. Asleson said we could give the information from the samples to other
boards and maybe publish in the Lino Lakes Newsletter. Ms. Bor stated
the data collected may help evaluate our Storm Water Management. Mr.
Averback gave a short history of a certain type of parasites and tape worms
in raccoons that could transfer to humans, etc.
B. Environmental Board Goals
Mr. Asleson explained what progress the board has made.
Mr. Asleson stated building has slowed down considerable this year.
Mr. Asleson said one goal should be a review and comment on the
Resource Management Plan.
