A hierarchy of streetscape treatments has been established to emphasize traffic functions within the project. The hierarchy of street is defined as follows: • Primary Streets: • Access Drives: • Pedestrian Linkage: A. Primary Streets - Apollo Drive Apollo Drive, proposed to be a public street, is the entrance and the main distributor of traffic within the project, connecting Lake Drive (CSAH 23) with 77th Street. At its intersection with Lake Drive, Apollo Drive will be a divided roadway to facilitate a sense of arrival and traffic control. After approximately 300 feet, Apollo Drive will be a 30 -foot wide street section located within a 60 feet right -of -way. A 5 -foot wide sidewalk is proposed on both sides of Apollo Drive from CSAH 23 to the first interior intersection, and then along the south and east side of Apollo Drive to facilitate pedestrian movement. This trailway links a future County trail along the east side of Lake Drive to trail routes to individual sites within the development. B. Access Drives - Private Outlots Privately owned outlots are to be controlled be Common Maintenance Area Agreements, will serve as spokes from Apollo Drive. Typically, these outlots will provide transportation linkage between Apollo Drive and several individual parking lots/building sites. These streets will be treated with a moderate use of streetscape elements. Their main design objectives are: • Create comfortable pedestrian scaled linkages between Apollo Drive and the individual uses, and parking area. • Provide continuity between Apollo Drive and the rest of the project through common streetscape elements and architecture. • Incorporate street trees. The design of the access drives will generally include a 50 -foot wide outlot containing a 30- foot wide private driveway, and a parallel sidewalk/trail. The outlots will be encumbered by deed restrictions that prevent their future turnover to the City for public streets. C. Pedestrian Link Bicycle, walking and jogging sidewalks are incorporated into the public street Corridor (Apollo Drive), the private driveways and also into specific building sites.
