The City Council approved the hiring
of Mr. Boldt to replace the vacancy created when Mr. Wilke pursued other employment.
Mr. Tom Decheine's twelve week Family Medical Leave (FMLA) expired December 2, 1998.
At the January 26, 1999 City Council meeting, an additional six month leave of absence was
granted which expires July 1, 1999. Mr. Decheine was informed that a letter from his physician
indicating he could return to work by October 1, 1999, needed to be submitted by July 1, 1999.
As of June 23, 1999, we have not received any correspondence form Mr. Decheine.
I am recommending that Mr. Anthony Tucker be considered for the General Maintenance- Streets
position. Mr. Tucker has a variety of relevant experience including five years as a senior
highway maintenance worker for MN DOT.
Mr. Tucker's beginning salary is $15.48 per hour plus benefits. This position will be eligible for
membership in the 49'ers Union. A physical examination and drug test will be required prior to
Mr. Tucker's start date.
OPTIONS:
1. Approve Mr. Anthony Tucker as General Maintenance - Streets Employee, contingent upon
Mr. Decheine's resignation which will apparently occur July 1, 1999.
2.
