City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
June 7, 1999
Paul stated he does have concern regarding the City selling park
property. However, he added he wants to hear how the residents
feel about the revised plan.
Pat stated he is also opposed to selling park property. He noted
that the project is predicated on a bigger better park at
sometime in the future.
Mr. Uhde stated he does have a concept plan of the larger park.
The plan will be reviewed by the City Planner later this week.
Ms. Deb Peterson, 208 Palomino Lane, came forward an asked when
the $35,000 in the Park Fund will be used for a play structure in
the park.
Chair Lindy stated the play structure installation will be the
first priority once the ground is ready.
Mr. Greg Gifford, 214 Palomino Lane, came forward and stated he
was led to believe from the designs that there would be a park
there connected by a trail. Access to the park without having to
cross Lilac Street is very desirable. He stated he is in favor
of the revised plan.
Chair Lindy asked if the homeowners most affected by the plan are
happy with the revisions. The homeowners indicated they are
happy with the revised plan.
Ms. Lawrence came forward again and expressed concern regarding
the lack of parking. She also asked if there is funding for the
trail connection from Behm's 5th Addition.
Chair Lindy stated money is budgeted each year for trails. Every
year the trails are prioritized regarding completion.
Ms. Lawrence stated that if there is no trail connection children
will still have to cross Lilac Street to get to the park.
Rick stated without a developed park the trail connection is a
low priority. The trail connection would become a higher
priority when the park is developed.
Chair Lindy added that the intent of smaller parks is for the
park to be for the neighborhood. Large parking areas are not
needed in smaller parks.
R
3
