COUNCIL MINUTES July 28, 2014 <br />APPROVED <br />91 4B) Promotion of Patrol Officer to Sergeant — A sergeant position is open due to the departure of <br />92 Dale Hager who went to another department. Chief Swenson said he is recommending the <br />93 promotion of Officer Chad Schirmers to that position. <br />94 <br />95 Mayor Reinert noted the retirement of Captain Kent Strege; he thanked Kent for his service and said <br />96 he will be missed. <br />97 <br />98 Council Member Kusterman moved to approve the promotion of Chad Schirmers to the position of <br />99 Sergeant. Council Member Roeser seconded the motion. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. <br />100 <br />101 4C) Hiring of Administrative Assistant- Police Chief Swenson noted that the Police Department is <br />102 moving to fill the new position of Administrative Assistant to assist with the duties and transition to <br />103 the Department of Public Safety. They were able to utilize a recent candidate list already in place. <br />104 They have found a great candidate for the job and are recommending that she be hired. <br />105 <br />106 Council Member Kusterman moved to approve the hiring of LouAnn Snell to the position of <br />107 Administrative Assistant in the Police Department. First Reading of Ordinance No. 06-14, Rezone Property located at 7880 Sunset Avenue from <br />118 R, Rural to PUD-Planned Unit Development; <br />119 ii. Resolution No. 14-43, Amendment to PUD Development Stage Plan/Preliminary Plat; <br />120 iii. Resolution No. 14-49, Approving Petition and Waiver Agreement from Century Farm <br />121 North Development, Inc. and Jeffrey E. Morell for Robinson Drive Improvements; <br />122 iv. Resolution No. 14-57, Preparation of Plans and Specifications for Robinson Drive <br />124 Improvements <br />125 <br />126 City Planner Larsen reviewed the development proposal using a PowerPoint presentation. She noted <br />127 the location, site plan, and roadway plans (Robinson Drive). She reviewed the original 2003 PUD, an <br />128 amendment approved in 2011 and the current amendment proposal. The final phase of the project <br />129 (Outlot C) is outstanding. She reviewed the overall figures of the development with this phase <br />130 included. Regarding density, she explained that the 3.76 units per acre is consistent with standards. <br />131 There are utilities and park dedication fees included in the project. At the Planning and Zoning Board <br />132 public hearing, comments were received on trails, street speed and drainage. She reviewed the <br />133 project schedule.
