AGENDA ITEM 4B
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Brian Wessel
DATE: 4/13/98
TOPIC: Consideration of changing the name of the Economic
Development Authority Advisory Board
BACKGROUND:
EDAAB is not a board required by state statute or the city charter. The group
acts in an advisory capacity on economic development issues. The board
members volunteer their time, and unlike other city boards, generally make their
recommendations based on consensus rather than a vote. There is no residency
requirement for this group.
Staff recommends that the name be changed to the Economic Development
Advisory Committee (EDAC) to better represent the role of the group.
OPTIONS:,
1. Change the name of the Economic Development Authority Advisory Board to
the Economic Development Advisory Committee
2. Return to staff for further consideration
RECOMMENDATION:
Option 1
