JUL -02 -1998 15:23 NAC
612 595 9837 P.03/15
Site Location. MnDOT is proposing to locate the communication facility within the Lino
Lakes Correctional Institution site. The antenna site is located in an area of mature trees
setback approximately 600 feet from the nearest adjoining property line.
Tower Height. Per the applicant's letter, the proposed 260 foot height is required to
provide a direct transmission corridor with facilities in Roseville.
Tower Use. The principal use of the tower is geared to State and regional emergency
service radio broadcasting. This represents an essential regional and community service.
Additionally, this tower will be designed to add additional commercial users. This should
serve to reduce the need for additional personal wireless service towers in this area of the
City.
FAA Approval. The applicant has received FAA clearance authorization for the tower
location and height.
CONCLUSION
The City does not have review authority over this State improvement. However, the
following design items would be suggested to reduce the impact of the antenna on Lino
Lakes:
1. The tower be made available to commercial personal wireless communication
companies to reduce the need for additional antenna towers in Lino Lakes.
2. No advertising signage be permitted on the antenna tower.
3. The color of the antenna tower should be silver or light blue to reduce the visual
presence of the tower.
4. Antenna illumination should be limited to solely FAA approved lighting.
pc: David Ahrens
Barry Sullivan
