AGENDA ITEM 7D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: David Ahrens, City Engineer /Public Works Director <br />DATE: July 27, 1998 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 98 -122, Approve Plans and Specifications and <br />Order Advertisement for Bids, Lilac Street Trunk Utility Extension, <br />Phase 2 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This project involves the extension of trunk utilities to serve Behm's Century <br />Farms 5th Addition. The first phase of this project extended trunk water and <br />sanitary sewer from near Appaloosa Lane to Thomas Street. This phase is near <br />completion. The second phase starts at Thomas Street and extends north and <br />west to Pinto Lane. The attached exhibit illustrates the project phasing. <br />The project schedule is as follows, assuming Council approval of the plans and <br />specifications: <br />Approve Plans and Specifications July 27, 1998 <br />Open Bids August 19, 1998 <br />Award Construction Contract August 24, 1998 <br />Start Construction September 1, 1998 <br />Construction Substantially Complete September 21, 1998 <br />The project is estimated to cost $120,000. Funding is through Area and Unit <br />assessments to the developer of the Behm's Century Farms project. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff. <br />2. Not approve the plans and specifications <br />3. Adopt Resolution No. 98 -122, approving the plans and specifications and <br />ordering advertisement for bids for the Lilac Street Utility Extension, Phase 2. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Resolution No. 98 -122 be adopted. <br />
