Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: November 23, 2009 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 09 -100, Approving Payment <br />Request No. 2 (Final) and Compensating Change <br />Order No. 1, 2009 Sealcoat Project. <br />Vote Required: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the April 27, 2009 meeting, City Council awarded the 2009 Sealcoat Project contract <br />to Allied Blacktop, Inc. <br />The contractor for the 2009 Sealcoat Project, Allied Blacktop, Inc., is requesting City <br />approval of Payment Request No. 2 (Final) in the amount of $6,771.70. A copy of the <br />Final Payment is attached. The contractor has satisfactorily completed all work and has <br />provided all necessary documentation. <br />Also included with the request for Final Payment is Compensating Change Order <br />No. 1 in the deduct amount of $266.00. A copy of the Compensating Change Order is <br />attached. With this Change Order, the final project amount is $135,434.00, which is <br />below the contract amount of $135,700.00. <br />Approval of the Final Payment will begin the one -year warranty period. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the approval of Resolution No. 09 -100, Approving Payment Request <br />No. 2 (Final) and Compensating Change Order No. 1, 2009 Sealcoat Project. <br />
