• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM NO. 1D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: March 9, 2009 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 09 -16 <br />Approving Grant Award from MESB for 800 MHZ <br />System <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Lino Lakes has been awarded a grant from the Metropolitan Emergency <br />Services Board to provide funding for mobile and portable radio equipment. Our <br />allocation of Public Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC) Grant Funds is <br />$20,769.91. The City of Lino Lake's portion of this grant award is $5,192.48. Funding <br />for the conversion to the 800 MHZ System is already in place for 2009. <br />Successful implementation of the Public Services Department's conversion to the 800 <br />MHZ System will allow us to communicate with the Lino Lakes Police Department and <br />the Centennial Fire District more efficiently, especially in emergency situations. <br />Attached is the Sub -Grant Agreement between the Metropolitan Emergency Services <br />Board and the City of Lino Lakes for consideration. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Sub -Grant Agreement <br />2.
