REVISED <br />AGENDA ITEM I D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Julie Bartell, City Clerk <br />DATE: June 9, 2008 <br />TOPIC: Approving Peddlers License for various companies <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Recent storms in the area have caused property damage to many homes in Lino Lakes. <br />Many companies in the business of property repair and improvement are anxious to <br />offer their services to city property owners with damages. Based on the city's <br />regulations requiring issuance of a transient merchant/peddler license, the city has <br />received numerous applications for licenses that will allow companies to solicit business <br />on a door -to -door basis. <br />The following companies have submitted an application to the city clerk's office <br />requesting a peddler license: <br />H & H Restoration Services, Inc., 6935 2 "d Av, Lino Lakes, MN; <br />Hometown Restoration, 7305 Aspen Lane N, Brooklyn Park, MN; <br />Patrick Home Exteriors, 127 Co Rd C, Little Canada, MN <br />The Gopher Company, Inc., 2701 36"' Av S, Mpls, MN <br />Michael Heiderscheid Construction, Inc., 1508 16th Av SE, Cambridge, MN <br />The City has received from each of these companies the necessary forms required to <br />issue a license. All approvals are contingent upon the applicant(s) finally meeting all <br />local requirements. According to city ordinance, background checks are required on all <br />representatives who would be working in the city. <br />The application and all other required information is on file in the city clerk's office for <br />review. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Resolutions No. 08 -58, 08 -59, 08 -60, 08 -62 and 08 -63 authorizing <br />issuance of peddler licenses for H & H Restoration Services, Hometown <br />Restoration, Patrick Home Exteriors, The Gopher Company and.Michael <br />Heidersheid Construction, Inc. <br />2. Deny Resolutions No. 08 -58, 08 -59, 08 -60, 08 -62 and 08 -63 <br />• RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 <br />
