• <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />TOPIC: <br />AGENDA ITEM NO. 5A <br />Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />February 14, 2011 <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 11 -20, Accepting <br />Bids and Awarding Farmland Lease Agreement <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Bids were received and publicly opened on February 3, 2011 at 10:00 am in the City <br />Council Chambers. This lease agreement is for an initial term of three years and can be <br />extended by mutual consent of both parties. Provisions of the lease agreement include <br />that annual payments must be submitted by March 1st of each year and this agreement <br />only pertains to farming operations. <br />Two bids were received as outlined below: <br />Jim Cardinal $1,900 per year <br />Gordon Rehbein Farms $1,800 per year <br />Staff recommends that the City Council award the Farmland Lease Agreement to Mr. <br />Jim Cardinal. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Award bid to Mr. Cardinal and direct the City Clerk to prepare the Farmland <br />Lease Agreement for execution. <br />2. Return to staff for further review. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option 1. <br />• <br />
