Mr. <br />Johnson is planning a benefit for Ms. Kellie Hanson to raise funds to help cover <br />her hospital costs. The plans include a spaghetti dinner, silent auction and <br />karaoke all taking place at American Legion Post 566 at 7731 Lake Drive, on <br />May 7, 2011 between the hours of 3:00 and 9:00 p.m. <br />City staff, including the police department, has reviewed the special event plans <br />to ensure that they are within city regulations and public safety concerns are met. <br />Since parking has sometimes been a concern for events at the Legion, the <br />applicant has submitted a parking plan that includes designated areas of parking <br />as well as attendants who will direct parking. <br />Therefore, staff is presenting for city council consideration a resolution <br />authorizing the issuance of a special event permit to Mr. Jeff Johnson. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Resolution No. 11 -47 authorizing issuance of a special event <br />permit to Mr. Jeff Johnson for benefit event at American Legion Post <br />566 on May 7, 2011. <br />2.
