Council Member Roeser introduced the following resolution and moved its • adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES COUNTY OF ANOKA RESOLUTION NO. 11 -79 APPROVING A SPECIAL EVENT AND PARADE PERMIT FOR BLUE HERON DAYS, AUGUST 19 -21, 2011 WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes summer celebration, Blue Heron Days, is planned for the weekend of August 19, 20 and 21, 2011; and WHEREAS, the schedule for this year's festival includes a 5K run, a parade, ambassador's program and coronation, business expo, Police Department open house, magic bounce inflatables, yoga at Lino Park, and YMCA family events; and WHEREAS, the Chain of Lakes Rotary is sponsoring many of the festival events and has submitted an application to the City for a special event and parade permit in conjunction with said events; and WHEREAS, said permit applications were reviewed for compliance with the City of Lino Lakes code of ordinances and for safety considerations by city administration, police, fire and public works divisions; and WHEREAS, Anoka County has approved a special permit to allow for parade activities on Lake Drive on August 20, 2011 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: That the City Council hereby approves the special event and parade permit application for the 2011 Blue Heron Days festival subject to ongoing efforts to ensure proper safety, signage and related issues.
