Pomp's Tire, Inc.
Drainage Review
City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota
Page 2 January 23, 2006
The grading plan indicates a broad crested weir outlet for the proposed infiltration basin which
is inconsistent with the sharp crested vee weir outlet defined in the HydroCAD model. Please
update the grading plan to reflect the model.
7. Include the sharp- crested vee weir detail in the plans as dimensioned in the proposed conditions
HydroCAD model for Pond 2P and Pond 3P.
Please include a detail of the sharp crested vee weir in the plans.
8. Include details of the pond outlet baffle and bale check in the plan.
No further comment.
9. The high water levels indicated in the grading plan is inconsistent with the high water levels
summarized in the HydroCAD model. Update the plan to reflect modeling results.
Update high water levels on the grading plan and pond baffle outlet detail according to the
above model revision results.
10. Expand the easement at the south corner of the proposed detention pond and add easement along
storm sewer from the cul -de -sac to the proposed detention pond.
No further comment.
11. Submit a copy of the RCWD 05 -117 permit, RCWD 04 -100 permit, and the NPDES permit.
No further comment.
Storm Sewer Review Comments:
12. Please submit storm sewer calculations and a storm sewer drainage map for review.
Storm Sewer design is typically accomplished using the rational method. Storm sewer for the
Pomp's Tire site was designed using HydroCAD. Pipe capacities were checked against
inflow values determined in the model, and there appears to be sufficient capacity to convey the
10 -year storm event.
13. Include roof drainage in the storm sewer design calculations.
No further comment.
14. Include rim and invert elevations for all catchbasins and manholes on the plan.
A minimum of 2 feet of cover from top of storm sewer pipe to rim of catch basin /manhole is
recommended.
Additional Comment
15. Should the 24" diameter storm sewer pipe between CBMH3 and CBMH2, as shown on the
Utility Plan, be 30" in diameter?
