Lino Lakes Police Depaitment
Memo
To: Chief John Swenson
From: Officer William Owens
CC:
Date: September 14,2012
Re: CPTED Recommendation for Bill's Superette's lighting
After reviewing the photometric plans for the Bill's Superette project I have an additional
recommendation. Within the crime prevention field it is a general recommendation the foot-
candle levels around the entrances and exits of a businesses be five foot-candles. As it
stands the foot-candle levels for the entrance to the liquor store are between 2.4fc and 1.2fc.
I would increase the intensity of the lighting. Similarly, the levels for the gas station are
between 2.9fc and 0.5fc. I would also recommend the lighting around the garbage dumpster
area be increased to 5fc.The lighting plan for the rest of the property appears sufficient.
1
