2d. What will the final product be? How will it be used? How will it impact your <br />groups/communities efforts? <br />The final product will be a report showing effectiveness of Bacteria. If positive results <br />are identified the information will be reviewed with DNR water officials and could be <br />implemented on problem areas or included in development recommendations within <br />the city. The final product will positively impact source water where nutrients are <br />added. <br />3a. Describe the responsibilities of the research assistant and the project supervisor. <br />The research assistant will be responsible for performing water testing, tabulating <br />data, and providing graphic and written reports of findings. The project supervisor <br />will set timetables, follow reporting, and inform cooperators as to implementation. <br />3b. What additional support can your group provide? What additional support will be <br />required for this project that your group cannot provide and how might it be <br />obtained? <br />Our group will provide cooperation from Anoka County Parks, Inver Grove Heights, <br />and private citizens as well as workspace, mileage, and a product to be used in <br />testing. Our group may need additional assistance and lab space from the U of M <br />water testing facilities. Resulting information is only as good as testing procedures. <br />3c. What skills, experience, and qualifications will be required of the student? <br />It would be helpful if the student could work independently, have a limnology <br />background, and previous lab experience. Any past research experiences would be <br />helpful but not required. Most importantly, the student must be well organized and an <br />excellent record keeper. <br />
