June 14, 1982
199
The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order
at 7:05 P.M., by Mayor Benson with all members present. Mr. Schumacher,
Mr. Hawkins, Mr. Volk and Mrs. Sarner were also present.
RECOGNITION PRESENTATIONS
Mayor Benson presented certificates to the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts,
the Cub Scouts, Lino Lakes Lioness, Circle -Lex Lions Club, Lino Athletic
Association, Lino Lakes JC's and placques to the Lino Lakes Lions Club,
the Centennial Hockey Association and the V.F.W. Post #6583 for their
contributions in both time and money to the community.
MINUTES - MAY 24, 1982
Mrs,. Elsenpeter, on page two, in regards to the motions made to approve
the proposal for street repairs and ordering the advertisement for bids,
there is no mention of the attached Resolutions. This should be noted
in that section.
Mr. Reinert moved to approve the minutes of May 24, 1982 as corrected.
Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried with Mr. Marier abstaining.
DISBURSEMENTS - MAY 31, 1982 /JUNE 14, 1982
Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve the disbursements as presented. Seconded
by Mr. Marier. Mr. Reinert questioned a $100.00 payment which is the
deductible on the insurance for the repair of a squad car. Mr.
Schumacher explained the circumstances. Mayor Benson noted that the new
squad car, the Suburban, had been received. Motion carried unanimously.
OPEN MIKE
Mr. W.Scheid, of the Circle -Lex Lions Club had asked to appear. It was
noted from the audience that he would be a little late.
Mayor Benson then called on Karen Henriksen. Mrs. Henriksen noted that
she was representing her Father -in -law. This deals with a variance for
a split of a parcel of land located on 4th Avenue. She reported that
this matter had been considered at the Planning and Zoning on Wednesday,
June 9, 1982.
The general consensus of the Council was that no decision could be made
on this question until the material has been received. This will be
included in the packets for the June 28, 1982 meeting.
Mr. Reinert, felt that, if in the future, this alignment of meetings
should occur, perhaps Mr. Schumacher should go through the PIZ agenda
and submit the non - controversial items for consideration to the Council,
even though these items were not in the Council packets.
Mr. Marier disagreed. He felt the Council needed the information to
study before they make a decision.
Mr. Scheid, of the Circle -Lex Lions Club requested a beer permit for the
llth and 12th of September in conjunction with Sandburr Days, Mr. Scheid
outlined some of the events that will occur, noting that the plans have
not been completed as yet.
