Motion carried with Mr. Marier
abstaining.
PARK BOARD REPORT
Mr. Schumacher reported there are two items he would refer to the Council. 1) the Lino
Lakes Lions Club had requested permission to repaint the sign at Sunrise Park, which
would be done exactly as it is now. The Park Board had recommended approval of this
request.
The other item was in connection with the construction of the Tennis Courts in Arena
Acres. The Park Board had discussed this and had recommended that a Letter of Credit
in the amount of $10,000.00 be posted for the construction in the near future.
Mr. Hawkins felt this is proper procedure. Mr. Schumacher pointed out that the
standards for the construction of the tennis courts would conform to State standards
has been agreed to.
Mr. Hawkins suggested a brief contract stating the terms of this installation.
Mr. Reinert moved that Mr. Hawkins and Mr. Schumacher work together formulating
this contract. Seconded by Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
Interview date for Police Officer - After some discussion, Mr. Marier moved to set
this interview for 6:00 P.M. and 6:30 P.M. on June 28, 1982 to interview two candidates
recommended by Chief Myhre and Mr. Schumacher. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion
carried unanimously.
Menkveld's Letters of Credit - Mrs. Elsenpeter reported that these Letters of Credit
expire as of the end of June and the streets are not completed at this date. This is
in the amount of $60,000.00 for Forest Glen, $20,000.00 for Carole's Estate II and only
about $100.00 for Carole's Estate I. The Bank has been checked and they understand that
a contract is in the process of being formulated.
Mr. Hawkins felt there are two alternatives; 1) present a draft on the Bank for the
full amount at this time; or 2) if there is a contract, negotiate an extension of the
Letter of Credit through the end of the contract.
It was pointed out that the Council had given Mr. Menkveld until the end of June to have
these projects completed. Mr. Hawkins felt that in that case, the City should present
a draft to the Bank for the full amount of the Letters of Credit.
Mr. Marier moved that a letter be sent to Mr. Menkveld informing him that the City is
very concerned with the uncompleted streets in his plats and that the City will draw
on the Letter of Credit at the end of June if the work is not completed. Seconded by
Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Reinert requested the Building Inspector to check the status of a building on
County Road J, West of Highway #49.
1
1
1
