1 <br />Council Meeting <br />November 22, 1982 <br />Mr. Smeed still has control of the 5 acres. Mr. Klenck - no problems. <br />Mr. Pete Nadeau, from the audience, said he still has a problem with Mr. Suchy and <br />he listed several complaints against the operation. <br />211 <br />The Council discussed the various aspects of this operation with Mr. Reinert moving to <br />continue the hearing on the Suchy Special Use Permit and asked Mr. Kluegel to research <br />as to just what is there - what are his rights to farm - what are the rights of the <br />neighbors. Seconded by Mayor Benson. Motion carried with Mr. Marier voting, No. <br />Mr. Marier moved to close the hearing at 8:15 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Reinert. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />A recess was called at 8:15. The meeting reconvened at 8:25 P.M. <br />AMENDED SPECIAL USE PERMIT - MICHAEL KENNEY <br />Mr. Kenney has a special use permit to operate a Floral Shop at his home on Hodgson <br />Road. He is now applying for an amended special use permit to retail unpainted <br />furniture at that location. This furniture is already assembled and some is pre - <br />finished at the factory. This will be basically catalog sales with a few pieces <br />for display. The primary business is the floral shop, the furniture is secondary. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve the amended special use permit. Seconded by Mr. Reinert. <br />Motion carried unanimously. The special use permit was approved for the reasons <br />1) it is located in a commercial zone, 2) had adequate parking, 3) compatible with <br />surrounding area. <br />FIRE STUDY COMMITTEE REPORT <br />Mr. Norm Fritchie presented the recommendations of this study group with some cost <br />figures. There was discussion of some of the several suggestions put forth by this <br />group. Mr. Reinert felt that he would like to have a meeting with this group. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to set a special meeting for November 29, 1982 at 7:00 P.M. <br />Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. (The Clerk was requested to <br />send copies of the proposal letters to the Council before this meeting) <br />ATTORNEY 's REPORT <br />Mr. Hawkins reported that he had received the files on Mr. Wilson and Northdale <br />construction from Mr. Locher's office. He also noted that the letter from the Judge <br />stated that a decision should be made soon on the Quads. <br />SET PUBLIC HEARING ON BUDGET <br />A Public hearing on the final budget was set for December 20, 1982 at 8:00 P.M. <br />Mayor Benson felt he would like to have another workshop before the final hearing. <br />It was suggested that the Council meet at 5:30 P.M. on December 13, 1982 before the <br />regular Council meeting. (The Mayor requested that all information requested from <br />the City Administrator be sent out to the Council by the 6-th.) <br />CHEMICAL TREATMENT FOR WATER SYSTEM <br />Mr. Volk pointed out the problems that are coming to light due to the iron and magnesia <br />in the water that clogs the meters and leaves an orange to black deposit in the lines. <br />He presented a proposal for the injection of chemicals that will clear this problem. <br />
