^g8 <br />Council Meeting <br />January 10, 1983 <br />Mr.M'. <br />. Kulaszewicz moved to adopt Reso.lutL,on #83-2. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS <br />Mr. Schumacher reported that the City will receive $32,973.00 in 1983. The Council <br />should make a decision as to the use of these funds. Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to <br />designate $5000.00 for the Alexandria House and the remainder of the funds to be <br />used toward the Senior Citizen Center. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried <br />unanimous ly. <br />Mrs. Kay Murphy extended her thanks on behalf of the Alexandria House. <br />ADDITIONAL DEPOSITORIES FOR INVESTMENTS <br />Mr. Schumacher presented a list of firms to be used for investment purposes. <br />Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to authorize Mr. Schumacher to use these firms for invest- <br />ment purposes. Seconded by Mr. Reinert. Motion carried unanimously. <br />FIRE STUDY TASK FORCE <br />Mayor Benson updated the Council on the actions of this body at a meeting held on <br />January 4, 1983. The next meeting will be held on January 27, 1983 at the Circle <br />Pines City Hall. The number of representatives from each community will be two with <br />an alternate. <br />After some discussion, Mrs. Elsenpeter moved that Mr. Schumacher and Mr. Mark Frieden, <br />with Mayor Benson as an alternate, represent the City. Seconded by Mr. Marier. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />TOWING BID - 1983 <br />Chief Myhre reported there had only been one bid from Beck's Auto-Medics and it is the <br />same as 1982. He recommended this be approved. Mr. Reinert moved to approve the 1983 <br />Towing Bid of Beck's Auto-Medics. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried <br />unanimously . <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Mr. Reinert asked the status of the lots on Black Duck Drive and Mr. Schumacher said <br />there is a meeting scheduled on January 11, 1983 with the Corps of Engineer. He will <br />report at the next meeting. <br />Mayor Benson reminded the Council members of the League meeting scheduled for <br />January 14, 1983. If you plan to attend, let the office know. <br />Mayor Benson also noted the material received from the League of Cities and the <br />questionaire included. He requested the Council to look this material over and <br />this will be discussed later. <br />Mayor Benson also reported there had not been a decision on the interceptor. The <br />decision had been tabled. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Mr. Schumacher reported briefly on the unaudited fund balances noting that most <br />departments were under budget. He commended the department heads for using their <br />funds wisely this past year. <br />
