1 <br />March 26, 1983 <br />and to obtain bids on both proposals. Seconded by MR. Marier. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />PROCLAMATION - CENTENNIAL PRIDE WEEK <br />19 <br />Mayor Benson noted that all members had received in their packets a <br />note from Mrs. Holmberg asking the Council to approve this proclamation <br />declaring the week of April 18th through the 22nd as Centennial Pride <br />Week. This is to be done by all surrounding communities. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve this proclamation. Seconded by Mr. Marier. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />STREET IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br />Mr. Volk presented his suggested program for the maintenance of the <br />streets with the priorities and estimated cost figures. Each Council <br />member has a copy of his report and this was discussed. The streets <br />that will be maintained under the State Aid program and the Streets <br />that work is planned for this year. <br />There was some discussion of percentage of overall costs to be assessed. <br />There was also discussion of a second option of doing all the seal - <br />coating in 1983 and some of the overlays. A question of 74th street, <br />can the C ity obtain some assistance from the State on this Street? <br />Mr. Schumacher will chekc this out. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve the seal- coating program and overlay on <br />the first four streets on the list with a question on 74th. Seconded <br />by Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Benson suggested examining the program and to consider the <br />possibility of some assessing. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to express their compliments on the manner in which <br />this report had been presented. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />There was none. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />There was none. <br />Mr. Marier moved to adjourn at 8:55 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. <br />Aye. <br />These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at a regular <br />Council meeting held on April 11, 1983. <br />Edna L. Sarner, Clerk <br />
