32
May 9, 1983
Adopted by the Council this 9th day of May,;1983
The Motion was seconded by Mr, Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously.
Edna L. Sarner, Clerk
Mr. Davidson reported on hsi attendance at a meeting concerned with
the Ramsey County Watershed District. Mr. Davidson presented two
Resolutions for Council consideration. This relates only to the district
around Lake Amelia. Mr. Davidson recommended approval of these
Resolutions. He also recommended an elected official sit on the Board.
Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to adopt the Resolution as presented by Mr.
Davidson. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Benson asked for suggestions as to who should serve on the Board
and suggested that perhaps a concerned citizen could serve in that
position. It was suggested that perhaps someone from that area would
be the logical person to serve and the name of Mr. Art Hawkins was
introduced.
Mr. Reinert asked Mr. Davidson why he had recommended this person be
an elected official and Mr. Davidson said some of the discussion deals
with policy and this area could best be served by an elected official.
These meetings are held once a month and the last one had been in the
afternoon. It was suggested that Mr. Reinert serve in this capacity
for the time being.
Mr. Marier moved to appoint Mr. Reinert to this position. Seconded by
Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously.
SHERWOOD GREEN PLAT - Mr Davidson reported on his findings on the drain-
age problem. There is to be a 30" pipe under 4th Avenue but Mr,
Davidson felt this could create a problem for the residents on the West
side of 4th and felt there should be more study done on this before
the pipe is installed.
Mrs. Elsenpeter insisted that the work being done along Highway #8 was
to have drained that area. Mr. Davidson said he had secured the County
Ditch plan from the County Surveyor and he felt this work along #8
cound not possbily drain the area in question - it was too far removed.
Mayor Benson asked that this be researched and report back to the
Council at the first meeting in June.
CLERK's REPORT
There was a request for a block party to be held on Carole Drive. The
Clerk was absent and Mr. Schumacher said he was not familar with the
request but felt this was annual request. Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to
approve this request to hold a block part with the stipulation there
1
1
