87 <br />Special Council Meeting <br />August 22, 1983 <br />The Special Council Meeting was called to order at 6:10 P.M., August <br />22, 1983 by Mayor Benson for the purpose of interviewing a potential <br />plice officer. Council members present; Kulaszewicz, Reinert; Absent - <br />Marier, Elsenpeter. <br />Mr. Schumacher noted that all members had received a memo from Chief <br />Myhre and himself explaining the process that had resulted in this <br />choice. Mr. Schumacher noted that the field of applicants haJ been <br />narrowed down to three choices. One has passed away, another had been <br />offered a position in Northern Minnesota. Mr. Victor Poyer is the re- <br />maining applicant of the top three selected to be interviewed. <br />Mr. Schumacher outlined the training and experience of Mr. Poyer. He <br />is presently employed by Rush City. It was noted that Mr. Poyer had <br />researched the City of Lino Lakes and felt he would like working in <br />this locale. <br />Chief Myhre reported on the interview he had with persons Mr. Poyer had <br />worked with and for. <br />Mayor Benson questioned the problem with the shift that had resulted in <br />the moving of the last officer. Chief myhre reported on the problem <br />in adjusting those hours and what is being done in that area. <br />Mr. Poyer was introduced to the Council. Mayor Benson asked his reasons <br />for applying for this position. <br />Mr. Poyer said he was looking for a position in a larger department, on <br />the finge of the Metro Area, and he liked the Lino Lakes area. <br />The Council spent some time discussing various areas with Mr. Poyer. <br />They thanked him for his time. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve the employment of Mr. Victor Poyer as a <br />Patrolman per Chief Myjre's and Mr. Schumacher's recommendations, <br />employment to begin as soot as possib.e Seocnded by MR. Kulaszewicz. <br />Motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 6:35 P.M. <br />Council Meeting <br />August 22, 1983 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order <br />at 7:00 P.M., with all member present except Mr. Marier. Mr. Hawkins, <br />Mr. Schumacher, Mr. Davidson, Mr. Kluegel, Cheif Myhre and Mrs. Sarner <br />were also present. <br />MINUTES - AUGUST 8, 1983 <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve the minutes of August 8, 1983 as presented. <br />Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously. <br />DISBURSEMENTS - AUGUST 22, 1983 <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve the disbursements as presented. <br />Seconded by Mr. Reinert. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
