He suggested that Mr.
Kluegel's request be presented to the Planning and Zoning Board for their
comments.
Mr. Burke noted this reqirement is according to State Law which governs
the splitting of lands by metes and bounds and is a dafe -guard against an
owner splitting one parcel at a time until his entire acreage is split by
metes and bounds.
Mr. Kluegel's second request was for the establishment of an inspection
fee for the installation of mobile homes. Mr. Kluegel presented some
figures from surrounding communities and recommended the fee of $25.00.
Mr. Reinert moved to set the fee for the insepction of the installaiton of
a mobile home installation at $25.00. Seconded by Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion
carried unanimously.
M.E.E.D. - Michael Delamont
Mr. Schumacher explained this person will serve in the position of a CSO
for the police department hadling muisance calls. He will be working 8
hours per day for a six months period and reimbursed through the M.E.E.D
program.
Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve the employment of Michael Delmont for a
six months period as CSO effective immediately. Seconded by Mr. Reinert.
Motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Schumacher reported that information had been received from the County
that the process to transfer the tax forfeit lots to the City has been
started.
Mr. Schumacher gave a brief update on the Fire Study Task F orce noting
that the proposal on how to establish the transition must be revised due
to Lexington dropping out of the group. The first step is the construction
of a new fire hall and to establish how this fire hall is to be constructed.
Mayor Benson suggested this be done before the end of the year in order to
allow for changes in the budget. It was generally felt it would take
two years to make the transition.
Mr. Schumacher noted the information on the Police internship is for
their information only.
Mayor Benson asked about the landscaping to be done at Maudie's and at the
49 C lub and Mr. Kluegel said thalall things should be completed before
the end of the year.
COUNCIL SALARY REVIEW
Mr. Schumacher noted that, per the State Auditor's recommendation, the
present salary and expenses will be combined as of January 1, 1984.
