1 1 161 Council Meeting January 9, 1984 2nd READING - ORDINANCE #13 -83 - AMENDING LIQUOR ORDINANCE Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to waive the reading of this Ordinance and to adopt the Ordinance as presented. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried with Mr. Marier voting. No. OLD BUSINESS There was no old business to discuss under this portion of the agenda NEW BUSINESS Mr. Schumacher presented Handbooks for Council Members that had been ordered for them. Also, material on a seminar to be held for Council Members. If any Me-mber is interested in attending, please let the office know.. ANIMAL CONTROL CONTRACT FOR 1984 Chief Myhre noted that the Contract is basically the same as last year with the exception of the charges. These have increase by 6.5 %. Mr. Schumacher noted that a 7% increase had been included in the budget, so this is well within the budgeted amount. Mr. Reinert had some questions concerning with the hours patrolled, the work being done by the CSO officer, isn't he doing most of the Animal Controls' work? the matter of quarterly or monthly reports - are they provided? Chief Myhre answered the quesitons. After further discussion on these matters, Mr. Reinert moved to approve the Animal Control Contract with White Bear Animal Control for 1984. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Marier requested that a letter of thanks be sent to Father Lee of the St. Jo's parrish. He is leaving the parrish. Mr. Marier moved this letter of thanks be sent. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Benson noted that he will deliver his State of the City address at the first meeting in February. He requested any comments from the Council members be forwarded to be included in the address. He also requested a copy of last year's address be sent to the Council members so they are aware of the format he used. Mayor Benson reported that he had received a request from the Planning and Zoning Board requesting a meeting with the Council quarterly or three times a year to discuss matter in general. He would ask for comments on the proposal. There was also a requesat that Mr. Hawkins attend Planning and Zoning meetings - perhaps quarterly. He would like Council thoughts on this also. Mayor Benson reminded the Council of the special Council meeting on Saturday, January 14, 1984 at 9:00 A.M. and the fire study meeting on the same date at 10:00 A.M.
