1 <br />1 <br />161 <br />Council Meeting <br />January 9, 1984 <br />2nd READING - ORDINANCE #13 -83 - AMENDING LIQUOR ORDINANCE <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to waive the reading of this Ordinance and to <br />adopt the Ordinance as presented. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion <br />carried with Mr. Marier voting. No. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />There was no old business to discuss under this portion of the agenda <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Mr. Schumacher presented Handbooks for Council Members that had been <br />ordered for them. Also, material on a seminar to be held for Council <br />Members. If any Me-mber is interested in attending, please let the <br />office know.. <br />ANIMAL CONTROL CONTRACT FOR 1984 Chief Myhre noted that the Contract <br />is basically the same as last year with the exception of the charges. <br />These have increase by 6.5 %. Mr. Schumacher noted that a 7% increase <br />had been included in the budget, so this is well within the budgeted <br />amount. <br />Mr. Reinert had some questions concerning with the hours patrolled, the <br />work being done by the CSO officer, isn't he doing most of the Animal <br />Controls' work? the matter of quarterly or monthly reports - are they <br />provided? Chief Myhre answered the quesitons. <br />After further discussion on these matters, Mr. Reinert moved to approve <br />the Animal Control Contract with White Bear Animal Control for 1984. <br />Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Marier requested that a letter of thanks be sent to Father Lee of <br />the St. Jo's parrish. He is leaving the parrish. Mr. Marier moved <br />this letter of thanks be sent. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Benson noted that he will deliver his State of the City address at <br />the first meeting in February. He requested any comments from the <br />Council members be forwarded to be included in the address. He also <br />requested a copy of last year's address be sent to the Council members <br />so they are aware of the format he used. <br />Mayor Benson reported that he had received a request from the Planning <br />and Zoning Board requesting a meeting with the Council quarterly or <br />three times a year to discuss matter in general. He would ask for <br />comments on the proposal. There was also a requesat that Mr. Hawkins <br />attend Planning and Zoning meetings - perhaps quarterly. He would like <br />Council thoughts on this also. <br />Mayor Benson reminded the Council of the special Council meeting on <br />Saturday, January 14, 1984 at 9:00 A.M. and the fire study meeting <br />on the same date at 10:00 A.M. <br />
