168 <br />January 23, 1984 <br />The existing contract with the City of Lexington and the possibility <br />of terminating that contract was discussed. Mr. Hawkins said the clause <br />in the contract allowing termination of the contract is not clear. <br />He felt this is a negotiable point. <br />Mayor Benson asked for some direction from this Council to MR. Hawkins <br />on how this joint powers agreement should be worded to reflect this <br />Council's discussion here this evening. <br />Mr. Marier moved that Mr. Hawkins make all the recommendations of the <br />Council had made here this evening. Seconded by Mr. Reinert. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Marier moved to authorize Mr. Hawkins to pursue the feasibility of <br />terminating the Fire Contract with the City of Lexington. Seconded by <br />Mr. Reinert. Motion carried unanimously. <br />BUILDING INSPECTION CONTRACT - 1984 - CIRCLE PINES <br />Mr- Schumacher explained this contract is basically the same as last <br />year with the exception of the manner is which the payment is computed. <br />The steps of inspections have been broken into percentages and the <br />person doing the inspection will be paid that portion of the permit fee. <br />Mayor Benson asked if this method of computing the payment would cover <br />the cost of the building Inspection and Mr. Schumacher said that it would. <br />There was some discussion on this point with Mr. Schumacher explaining. <br />The Council requested that the language that states that Lino Lakes' <br />Building Inspection will do all plan checks and permits preparation be <br />added to the contract. There should be no problem making this addition. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve the Building Inspections Contract with the <br />above suggested language added under catagory No. 1. Seconded by Mr. <br />Reinert. Motion carried unanimously. <br />GARAGE DOOR BIDS <br />Mr. Volk presented his bids for the installation of insulated garage <br />doors in the shop. He noted that he had received three bids and <br />recommended acceptance of the low bid. Mr. Volk pointed out these are <br />not the top of the line doors in appearance but do have the same amount <br />of insulation as the more expensive doors. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve the low bid for the purchase of the garage <br />doors as presented by Mr. Volk. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />BID ON OILED FUELED HEATER - Mr. Volk explained this is a waste oil <br />heater. This unit will be using the waste oil from the City vehicles. <br />This unit will be hung from the ceiling and is designed to heat an area <br />larger than the garage area. <br />Mr. Marier asked if this passed all the safety requirements and Mr. <br />Volk said that it did. <br />
