182 <br />February 13, 1984 <br />Legislative Conference March 13th and 14th, 1984 - Mayor Benson <br />noted there are registration forms for any Council member that <br />wishes to attend the Legislative Conference. Registration should <br />be completed by March 1, 1984. <br />Blaine Race Track - Financial Suppert. - Mayor Benson - Mayor Benson <br />told the Council that the proposed Lino Lakes Race Track located <br />on the East side of the City will probably not be pursued by its <br />developers. However, he felt there was a very good chancre the <br />Blaine Race Track site could be selected. Blaine is presenting a <br />very strong drive to influence thb selection committee favorably. <br />This is costing a considerable amount of money and they are asking <br />for financial support from surrounding communities. <br />Mr. Marier moved to support the North Star Racing Assn. with $1,000.00 <br />from the City contingency fund. Mr. Kulaszewicz seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor BEnson noted that several letters were included in the Council <br />packets. <br />A letter from Chief Myhre regarding his intention to replace the <br />present CSO officer was noted. The officer was from the MEED program. <br />Mr. Marier moved to continue the CSO officer program through MEED. <br />Mr. Kulaszericz seconded the motion. Motion carried umanimously. <br />Mayor Benson referred to the letter from the City of Mounds View <br />regarding the condition of County Road J /Ash Street and requesting <br />a meeting with all communities affected by this Street. Mr. Schumacher <br />and Mr. Volk were encouraged to attend these meetings. <br />Cable TV - Herb Johnson - Mr. Johnson, who represented Lino Lakes on <br />the Cable Commission, provided the Council with an update on Cable <br />TV. He noted the City has been presented with a bill of approximately <br />$4,300. This money will be reimbursed by Group W within 90 days. Mr. <br />Johnson said there have been problems with the cable company itself. <br />Mayor Benson requested that Mr. Schumacher further update the Council <br />regarding Cable TV at the next Council meeting. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to adjourn at 8:20 P.M. Mr Bohjanen seconded the <br />motion. Aye. <br />These minutes were considered and approved at a regular Council <br />Meeting held on February 27, 1984. <br />Edna L.
