1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />191 <br />Council Meeting <br />February 27, 1984 <br />depending on the length of the ad but in the area between $3.00 and <br />$5.00. <br />Mr. Reinert expressed his thanks to the Council and staff for their <br />concern on the death of his Father. <br />Mr. Ross, from the audience, asked for an update on the Cable TV. <br />Mayor Benson said Mr. Hern Johnson, our representative, had reported <br />that he will have something for presentation very soon. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Chief Myhre presented his request for new typewriter for the Police <br />Department. He had checked on three different brands and due to the <br />cost he recommended the purchase of the Olympia for $1299.00. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to purchase the Olympia Typewriter at the cost of <br />$1299.00. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Benson preesnted the request from the Metropolitan Council for <br />nominations for the Regional Citizen of the Year. He suggested that <br />Mr. Al Ross be nominated for this honor. <br />RESOLUTION #84 -08 <br />RESOLUTION NOMINATING LINO LAKES CITIZEN AL ROSS AS METROPOLITAN <br />COUNCIL "REGIONAL CITIZEN OF THE YEAR" <br />WHEREAS, Al Ross has been a resident of Lino Lakes for 33 years, and <br />WHEREAS, Al served fpr many years as Lino Lakes Council member, and <br />WHEREAS, Al also served as an Anoka County Commissioner, and <br />WHEREAS, In these capacities, Al worked tirelessly to serve his <br />consitutents and nurture the development of Anoka County <br />and Lino Lakes, and <br />WHEREAS, Through his efforts, Al made significant contributions to <br />the quality of life in Anoka County and Lino Lakes, and <br />WHEREAS, Al continues his public,ervice in a variety of metropo'.tan <br />groups including the Metropolitan Transportation Advisory <br />Board and Policy Board and the MTC Crime Control Board, and <br />WHEREAS, Al also continues to serve the public interest through <br />affiliations with many civic, church, labor and county <br />groups. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Lino Lakes City Council <br />endorse by acclamation, the nomination of Al Ross as the Metropolitan <br />Council Regional Citizen of the Year. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 27th day of February, 1984. <br />
