238
May 29, 1984
Mr. Kluegel pointed out the letter of intent had been forwarded to the
Council by Mr. Kohl setting forth his plans for this business. The
Planning and Zoning had recommended approval contingent upon Mr. Short's
letter of March 6, 1984. Mr. Kluegel felt Mr. Kohl understood the
limitations that are placed on this business.
There was discussion on the type and amount of repairs that will be done
at this location. Also, a concern of the Council was the number of
un- runable cars to be stored at this location.
Mr. Kohl said he did not plan to have more than possibly three cars
stored at the location. He also pointed out that he would be removing
any refuse on a weekly basis.
Mr. Reinert had some concerns with the traffic congestion at this inter-
section. Mr. Kohl pointed out that he had received approval of MnDOT
for a driveway and they had no problems with the business.
Mayor Benson suggested that all repairs be contracted out and only the
cleaning and cosmentic phase of the work be done at this location.
Mr. Kohl felt this was not what he wanted to do . He felt this was work
he could do and would therefore be more of a profit for him.
Mayor Benson suggested that a car on remain in a non - repair state for one
week and then either be put on the lot for sale or removed from the
location.
Mr. Kohl said he saw no problem with this stipulation. He was asked
how he would dispose of the refuse and he said he would be hauling this
away at least once a week.
Mr.Klulaszewicz moved to close the public hearing at 9:18 P.M. Seconded
by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Marier moved to approve the site and building plans as presented and
per the stipulations of the Planning and Zoning Board and the Planner.
Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried with Mr. Reinert voting, NO.
Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve the Conditional Use Permit with the
Mayor suggestion that only minor repairs be done at this location, non -
runables not be stored on the property and this permit is subject to
review and cancellation. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried with
Mr. Marier and MR. Reinert voting, No.
NEW BUSINESS
Mayor Benson noted that all members had received copies of the 1983
audit and that a work session has been scheduled for June 11, 1984 at
5:30 P.M. There will be a follow -up review on this matter.
Mr. Kulaszewicz repeated his suggestion that this Council meeti with
the Planning and Z oning Board to discuss mutual concerns. It was
suggested that Mr. Kluegel consult with the Planning and Zoning Board
for their feelings on a meeting some time aournd the end of the month.
1
