They investigated the possibility of sharing a police
chief and also merging with another police department.
Mr. Jensen and Mrs. Apitz met with Mr. Illenfeldt, Chairman of the
Circle -Lex Police Commission. Mr. Illenfeldt felt sharing a
police chief was not feasible and also felt merging his department
with the Lino Lakes department would not be approved by his Commis-
sion. He also expressed the view that Lino Lakes should not contract
police service with the Anoka County Sheriffs` department because
the City would lose control and also would lose the personal touch.
Mr. Illenfeldt felt Lino Lakes should continue with their own de-
partment and hire a police chief.
043
