070 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />Page Six December 10, 1984 <br />CONSIDERATION OF PART -TIME CLERICAL ASSISTANCE <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that Sue Coleman has resigned effective <br />the first of the year and he had advertised the position in <br />the twin cities area papers and the local papers. Five applicants <br />were interviewed and Mrs. Florence Ray was recommended as the <br />most qualified candidate. She is a local resident and is extremely <br />competent and has taught business education for a number of years. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to approve hiring Florence Ray starting January <br />7, 1985. Mr. Kulaszewicz seconded the motion. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz asked if Mr. Schumacher has always hired part -time <br />help in this manner, does the Ways and Means Committee not get <br />involved? Mr. Schumacher said not on a part -time position, he <br />has always interviewed and made a recommendation to the Council. <br />Mayor Benson asked that the Ways and Means Committee get together <br />with Mr. Schumacher before recommending both part -time and full -time <br />candidates to the Council. <br />On voting on the motion, motion declared passed. <br />OLD BIISINESS <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz reminded the Council they are to consider a meeting <br />with the Planning and Zoning Board on the 5th Monday in whatever <br />month it should fall. Mr. Schumacher said he is in the process <br />of scheduling a joint meeting for January, 1985. <br />NEW BIISINESS <br />There was no new business. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to adjourn. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the <br />motion. <br />Mr. Schumacher asked if the Counmcil wanted to review the budget. <br />Mayor Benson said he did not have a problem with the budget. <br />Mr. Marier asked for a list of all the surplus from each department <br />by the end of February. He asked also where this surplus will <br />be placed. He also said he had a problem with travel expenses. <br />Mr. Schumacher asked if the Council was looking at adopting the <br />budget at the last Council meeting in 1984. Mayor Benson said <br />yes. <br />On voting on the motion to adjourn - aye. <br />These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at a regular <br />meeting on December 27, 1984. <br />enjamin G.
