1
1
1
COUNCIL MEETING
May 13, 1985
Page Two
my home 875 Old Birch Street, you've been complaining about
it for three years, I'd like to have a copy of the complaint:'
Mayor Benson said he said it wasn't the City Attorney and asked
Mr. Kluegel if he has been following up on this. Mr. Kluegel
explained to Mrs. DuFour he has sent her a letter in the past.
Mrs. DuFour asked for a copy of the letter and said she "nad
nothing on it and would like to have it." Mayor Benson said
this has been discussed with Mr. & Mrs. DuFour in the past
on several ocassions. Mrs. DuFour asked "when was this discussed ?"
Mayor Benson said about two years ago when you and your husband
were in here. Mrs. DuFour asked'when we got a building permit,
when we paid for it." Mayor Benson said when the Council was
in the old chambers. Mrs. DuFour said, "oh, you mean when
you gave me a special use permit for the trailer and then a
man came and pulled a well without a permit and you gave me
a ticket and then we went to court and it was dismissed by
the judge, is that the one you mean ?" Mayor Benson said it
was after that, you are talking about a letter about your siding
and you were in the Council Chambers. Mrs. DuFour said "well,
where is this letter now, before we pulled the second permit ?"
Mayor Benson said the Building Inspector will give you a copy
of the letter. He asked if there is siding on the house.
Mrs. DuFour said "three years the permit goes for legally, right ?"
Mr. Kluegel said initially when you pull the permit you have
six months to start building according to State Building Code.
Once you have started construction you have another six months
grace period and if construction has not started, then a new permit
is required. Mrs. DuFour asked "so, has there been a problem
on that Pete ?" Mr. Kluegel said it hasn't been completed yet.
Mrs. DuFour said "he did pull a permit recently now before you
sent the officer out to abuse me." Mayor Benson said Mr. Kluegel
did not sent the officer out. Mrs. DuFour said, "Marilyn Anderson
did, I've heard the accident is that so Marilyn ?" Mayor Benson
said we are talking about a permit now. Mrs. DuFour said,
"no, we are talking about the police coming out." Mayor Benson
said no, you are asking about a permit now, what are you asking
about, a copy of a letter dealing with a request to have your
siding completed? Mrs. DuFour said, "yes, I would like to
have a copy of the complaint on the siding." Mayor Benson
asked Mr. Kluegel to get this to Mrs. DuFour and asked if neces-
sary write another letter to her for her file. Mrs. DuFour
said, "and also I want copies of Mr. Campbell's statement from
the last meeting about the abusing of my children. Richard
isn't here, he stated he has had trouble with us in the past,
I'd like to have a copy of that." Mayor Benson said according
to the minutes this was stated. Mrs. DuFour said, "it was
in the newspaper." Mayor Benson said the newspaper is not
the legal document of the City. Mr. Marier said the City has
no control over what is printed in the newspaper. Mrs. DuFour
asked, "where is Mr. Campbell's papers on this? Where is Mr.
Campbell's investigation papers on this complaint ?" Mayor
Benson said he thought they would be in Mr. Campbell's file.
179
