028
COUNCIL MEETING
June 24, 1985
Page Two
OPEN MIKE
A. Bill Dian - Completing Lois Lane North of Luther's Sport Shop.
Mr. Dian of 7825 Knoll Drive showed the Council a plat map that
indicates there are 49 lots on Lois Lane and 15 lots on Knoll Drive.
He explained that this indicates a lot of traffic that has only one
way in and one way out of this particular area. He requested that
Lois Lane be completed to the west to Lake Drive giving the area two
accesses.
Mr. Volk told the Council he will be upgrading Lois Lane from Lake
Drive to the east to the last house on this portion of Lois Lane.
To the east of this section there is approximately 1/4 mile before
the new Lois Lane begins. Mr. Videen and Mr. Tom Zangla own the
property in this area. Mr. Davidson told the Council Mr. Videen
has requested a letter of credit to complete Lois Lane to the east
of Knoll Drive. Mr. Kluegel has been in contact with Mr. Videen
and Mr. Videen had indicated he is not planning on doing anything
with the west portion so that the area could be opened up to Lake
Drive.
Mayor Benson told Mr. Dian that the road program for 1985 is already
determined but suggested that Mr. Dian contact both Mr. Videen and
Tom Zangla owners of this property to find out what their intentions
are as far as completing this portion of the street. The Council
will take this under advisement.
REVIEW OF OLD COUNCIL CHAMBER REMODELING
Mr. Volk explained the blueprints of the proposed remodeling. There
has been three or four staff meetings to plan this area and this plan
reflects what they consider to be the most efficient and cost effec-
tive method of remodeling. There will be very little removal of
existing walls, primarily just adding new walls for new offices.
Mayor Benson asked if these would be moveable walls. Mr. Volk ex-
plained that the present walls do have headers but are not connected
to anything making them almost moveable walls. Mayor Benson said
he felt the Conference Room would not be large enough to accommo-
date another public meeting such as Planning and Zoning or Park Board.
Mr. Schumacher said due to the amount of space that there is to work
with this is all that could be alloted for such use. He felt there
was a larger need for space in the Clerk's office and reception area.
Mayor Benson suggested moving the south conference room wall further
south several feet.
Mr. Marier asked how much area would be designated for record storage.
Mr. Schumacher said there is presently two years storage and there
are no plans to use any further office space for storage. There will
be some storage area in the copy room.
