If the applications <br />do not have to be forwarded to the County prior to <br />the next Council meeting, this will be placed on the <br />agenda. <br />B. City Insurance Policy - Mr. Schumacher explained he <br />has received quotations from renewal of all the City <br />insurance policies and the premiums have increased <br />104%. This is not uncommon. Many cities are experiencing <br />even greater increases in their renewal premiums. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained the Council could reduce some <br />of the coverage and save about $10,000 in premiums <br />but he did not recommend doing this. <br />Mayor Benson suggested looking into the League of Minnesota <br />Cities insurance program. Mr. Schumacher had already <br />done this. Mr. Schumacher suggested asking the League <br />to put pressure on the legislature to lessen this burden <br />on the local municipalities. Mr. Marier suggested <br />that a resolution be drafted to accomplish this action. <br />Mr. Bisel from the audience said this problem is occuring <br />in the private business sector as well. <br />Mayor Benson had received a thank you card from the Senior <br />Citizens group. They told the Council they appreciated <br />and enjoyed their new center. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to adjourn at 9:35 P.M. Mr. Reinert <br />seconded the motion.
