As indicated by our auditing firm the "General Fund" has seen <br />great resurgance since the Council adopted a rebuilding plan three <br />years ago. <br />POLICE <br />In February, 1985, the City Council hired Chief Dean Campbell to <br />head our Police Department. The last few months have seen Chief <br />Campbell making an effort to upgrade programs and policies within the <br />department. <br />In the first six months, 1985, the Police Department realized the <br />following statistics: <br />- Residential burglaries down 66% from the same time 1984. <br />- Larceny down 77 %. <br />- Auto thefts down 58 %. <br />- Assaults down 87 %. <br />- Automobile personal injury accidents down 73 %. <br />- Automobile property damage accidents down 69 %. <br />During 1985 the Lino Lakes Police Department continued to promote the <br />Neighborhood Watch Program. The program generated not only interest <br />by our citizens, but active participation. Requests and presentations <br />by the Police Department have doubled. The Police Department also <br />offers its Operation Identification to residents. This program offers <br />engravers to residents forthem to mark their property, thereby making <br />it easier to trace if stolen. <br />IOther services offered include school programs such as bicycle safety, <br />school patrol safety, officer friendly and police canine demonstrations. <br />In 1985 the Police Department received a Yamaha Moto -4 purchased for <br />
