294
12
citizens of Lino Lakes for the support and assistance they contributed
in 1985. The larger the City becomes, the more the Council must rely
on Boards and citizen's input to grow and prosper. I am always
pleased to see the number of applicants who are willing to commit their
time and effort when a vacancy arises. It proves to me that the citi-
zens of Lino Lakes are ready and willing to make the committment to
our City's future. Let me again thank you on behalf of the City
Council. You are appreciated and needed.
As I begin my fifth year as Mayor we must continue to extend a help-
ing hand to all who seek help. We are growing and must remind our-
selves that many new residents will call Lino Lakes their home in the
future. I must also remind the City staff and Council that we are
here to serve the residents of the City. We must be helpful and
courteous when dealing with their concerns.
1985 was a very good year for Lino Lakes. A special thanks must go to
the staff and Council for their efforts. I fully expect 1986 to be
another year with much progress. We can see development moving closer
and in fact, we are beginning to experience the progression from our
southern cities. We must be prepared to cope with the expansion in
the future. Finally, as a Council we are the fathers of the City.
We accepted that responsibility when we were elected. In 1986 the
decisions we make will affect not only the immediate future but
future success throughout the balance of this century. Let's make
every effort to base those decisions on sound foundations for a
strong city.
Again, thanks to all who helped make 1985 a good year for Lino Lakes.
1
