You may want <br />to maintain separate institutional water use records for emergency planning and allocation purposes. <br />Commercial. Water used by motels, hotels, restaurants, office buildings, commercial facilities, both civilian and military. <br />Industrial. Water used for thermoelectric power (electric utility generation) and other industrial uses such as steel, chemical and allied products, food processing, paper and allied products, mining, <br />and petroleum refining. <br />Wholesale Deliveries. Bulk water sales to other public water suppliers. <br />Unaccounted. Unaccounted for water is the volume of water withdrawn from all sources minus the volume sold. <br />Residential Gallons per Capita per Day = total residential sales in gallons /population served/365 days Total Gallons per Capita per Day = total water withdrawals /population served/365 days <br />NOTE: Non - essential water uses defined by Minnesota Statutes 103G.291, include lawn sprinkling, vehicle washing, golf course and park irrigation and other non - essential uses. Some of the above <br />categories also include non - essential uses of water. <br />
