• <br />• <br />• <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 07 -173 <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE EAST <br />ALIGNMENT OF THE CENTRAL ANOKA COUNTY REGIONAL TRAIL CORRIDOR <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County is pursuing the development of a multi - purpose regional trail <br />system that would link local and state trail systems, regional parks, and provide safe and <br />convenient routes for non - motorized traffic to traverse the County, and. <br />WHEREAS, in 1996, the Metropolitan Council adopted a Regional Trails Policy <br />Amendment to its Regional Recreation Open Space Development Guidelines /Policy Plan for <br />the implementation of corridors which provide access to high quality natural resources, regional <br />parks, park reserves, and local areas of interest, and <br />WHEREAS, the east alignment of the Central Anoka County Regional Trail Corridor <br />would link together the cities of Blaine, Lino Lakes and Centerville to the East Anoka County <br />Regional Trail and the proposed Bald Eagle /Chain of Lakes Regional Trail, and <br />WHEREAS, the Central Anoka County Regional Trail Corridor is strategically located to <br />provide immediate pedestrian access to the recreational resources at Rice Creek Chain of <br />Lakes Park Reserve, Wargo Nature Center and Rice Creek. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of Lino Lakes hereby offers its support <br />to Anoka County in the effort to cooperatively develop the Central Anoka County Regional Trail <br />Corridor. <br />ADOPTED by the Lino Lakes City Council this 22nd day of October, 2007. <br />Julian Bartell, City I Jerk <br />L. <br />Joh J. ¢er so , Mayor <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member Stoltz and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />Carlson, Stoltz, Reinert, O'Donnell, Bergeson <br />The following voted against same: <br />none <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
