Both local agencies <br />have passed resolutions supporting the development and construction of the trail. <br />Refer to Appendix D. At the county level, this master plan has been brought forth at <br />public Parks and Recreation Committee meetings and at County Board meetings. <br />In addition, an open house was held on October 17th, 2007 at 5:OOpm. A notice <br />was published in the local weekly newspaper and on the Anoka County website a few <br />weeks prior to the meeting. In addition, post card invitatiotis were mailed out to local <br />city officials. At the meeting, several positive comments were received. 'SPECIAL NEED <br />oka County continually strives to provide equal access to all residents of Anoka <br />rnty. No fees are collected for trail use, therefore no economic barriers are present <br />for trait users. Trail use is open to any and all citizens. The Anoka County "Traveler" <br />provides transportation services to the citizens of Anoka County for a minimal fee. This <br />service offers ri s to specific locations and is available to those in need. <br />The proposed trail shall have access points that will conform to the standards mandated <br />by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The bituminous trail will be built with grades <br />required for accessibility and curb ramps will be constructed at all locations where the <br />trail crosses a curb. <br />Page 10 of 14 <br />
