• <br />August 27, 1979 <br />The regular meetin9. of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at <br />8:00 P.M., August 27, 1979, by Mayor Karth. Council members present; <br />Kulaszewicz, McLean, Zelinka. Absebt; Schnieder. Mr. Locher and Mr. <br />Gotwald were also present. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve the minutes of August 13, 1979 as presented. <br />Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion declared passed with Mr. Zelinka abstaining. <br />The Clerk presented the following items for Council consideration: <br />..A letter from the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities asking this <br />City to koin that organization. No decision on this matter. <br />..The cost figures on operation of the lift station had been computed and <br />forwarded to the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission. <br />..Announcement from Northwestern Bell Telephone setting public hearings <br />on the rate increase they have requested. <br />..Mr. Robert Kell, Insurance Agent, had dropped off the new insurance <br />policies and an itemized statement of the premiums. The Council felt <br />that Mr. Schneider should be consulted before aggrement on payment of this. <br />..Two letter from Mr. Arthur Hawkins on the subject of the use of Otter <br />Lake by power boars - and shooting in the gravel pit. These matters were <br />directed to the Police Department. <br />..A letter from DNR stating that the NSPpowerline right -of -way is no longer <br />being considered for the trail system from Arden Hills to Jay Cooke <br />State Park. <br />..Reimbursement from NSP for the repair of West Shadow Lake Drive in the <br />amount of $359.55 and repair of a damaged culvert in the amount of $261.00. <br />..Reimbursement from the State of Minnesota for Shade Tree Control in <br />the amount of $371.88. <br />..Reimbursement from Anoka County for patching on a portion of Aqua <br />Lane in the amount of $56.00. <br />..Mr. Robert Keefe had called to say he would be out of town this evening <br />and unable to attend this meeting. He did say that he plans to renew his <br />letter of credit for the installation of the cul -de -sa and will confirm <br />by letter and a notice from the bank. After some discussion on this <br />matter, Mr. McLean moved that Mr. Keefe be asked to come before the Council <br />on this letter of Credit extension. The Clerk is to notify Mr. Keefe that <br />this cul -de -sa should be constructed. Seoconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion <br />declared passed. <br />Mayor Karth presented Mr. Volk's request to advertise for the purchase of <br />a dump truck. It was felt that by advertising at this time, some firm <br />figures could be put in the budget. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to authorize Mr. Volk to advertise for bids on the <br />dump truck per the specifications proposed. <br />Mr. McLean asked about delivert date - Mr. Volk said possibly in December, <br />Mr. Zelinka asked baout plows, etc., - Mr. Volk said all new equipment <br />would be needed for this truck since this is an addition, not a replacement. <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion declared passed. <br />Mr. Schneider had asked Mayor Karth to set a budget hearing. After some <br />discussion, Mr. McLean moved to set a budget hearing for September 11, <br />1979 at 8:00 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion declared passed. <br />The hardshells for Twilite Acres II were here for signatures. Mr. Locher <br />will check the final plat for accuracy. Mr. McLean moved to authorize the <br />Mayor and Clerk to sign the final plat subject to Mr. Locher's approval. <br />
