1
1
December 10, 1979
17, 1979, at 8=00 P.M. Mr. McLean moved to approve this time and date.
Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion declared passed.
41
Mr. Schumacher discussed the problems with obtaining a recording sec-
retary. He recommended taping and perhaps hiring a transcriber to type
verbatim. This would then be edited by someone and retyped in the office.
There was discussion on the cost of this method, the cost of the necessary
equipment, the need for persons on the tape to identify themselves and the
need for a mike for audience usage. Mr. Schumacher and Mr. Zelinka will
check further into this with the possibility of using such a unit on a
trail basis with the option to purchase.
Mr. Schumacher recommended that a Count Committee for the 1980 census
be appointed. This is basically a public relations committee giving
information as to the benefits to be obtained by the City as a result of
the cinsus.
Mr. Zelinka felt this would be a good priPject for the newly formed Jr.
Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Zelinka will follwo up on this matter,
Mr. Schumacher had also recommended that a 'Ways and Means' committee be
formed - this committee would assist in labor negotiations, employee pro-
blems, etc. It is usually composed of three members of the Council. The
general consensus of the Council was this should be handled by the new
Council.
Mr. Al Ross, from the audience, reported of apparent misuse of Ware Road.
He felt the moving of homes over that road will illegal, in that the road
is not constructed to carry such heavy traffic. This matter will be checked
by MR. Volk.
Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to authorize Mr. Schumacher to contact members of
the Personnel Commission informing them of the disbanding of that commission
and thanking them for their contributions to the City, Seconded by Mr.
McLean. Motion declared passed.
Mr. Schneider reproted briefly on the financial report. Mr. Schneider,
Mr. Schumacher and Mrs. Anderson will go over the financial status and
report back at the next Council meeting. Also, the Council should approve
a formal bus get at the same meeting.
Mayor Karth announced, that due to the Holidays, the next regular scheduled
Council meeting will be held on December 26, 1979,
The Public Hearing of Pletier View Plat was called to order at 8 :45 P.M.
Mr. Locher noted this is a continued hearing first published on May 14,
1979. Mr. Locher read the notice of legal publication. Mayor Karth read
the permit approval from Rice Creek Watershed Board.
Mr. McLean asked about soils limitation and Mr. Gotwald's comments stated
the soils were moderate to sever.
Mr. Donald Marier, who owns lands to the North of this plat presented his
objections to the platting of this land - high water table. possibility
of pollution of Peltier Lake, no on -site inspection by RCWB, excessive
ground water run -off.
Mayor Karth noted that these problems were the reason why this plat was
sent to Rice Creek Watershed Board before this hearing.
