A � <br />January 3, 1980 <br />Special Council meeting <br />The Special Council Meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to <br />order at 7.30 P.M. by Mayor Gourley. Members present; Elsenpeter, Jaworski, <br />McLean. Absent; Kulaszewicz. Mr. Locher and Mr. Schumacher were alos <br />present. <br />The first item on the agenda was the appointment for Acting Mayor. Mayor <br />Gourley nominated Mr. Jaworski. Seconded by Mr, McLean. Motion declared <br />passed. <br />The designation for the official Newspaper was next on the agenda. Mr. <br />Jaworski moved to designate the Circulating Pines. Seconded by Mr. McLean. <br />Motion declared passed. <br />The official depository was next on the agenda. Mr. Schumacher said this <br />is a flexiable designation and other depositories may be requested in the <br />future. Mr. McLean moved to disignate Centennial Bank as depository for <br />an indefinite period. Seconded by Mr, Jaworski, Motion declared passed. <br />Consideration of the Civil DefenseDirector was next on the agenda. Mr. <br />McLean moved to reappoint Mr. Charles Cape. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. <br />Motion declared passed. <br />The appointment of the Weed Inspector was considered. The Mayor is the <br />official week inspector, Mayor Gourley moved to appoint Allan Robinson as <br />Assistant Weed Inspector. Seconded by Mr, MCLean. Motion declared passed, <br />Mayor Gourley moved to reappoint Richard Hauer as Assistant Fire Marshall. <br />Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion declared passed. <br />The vacancies on the Park Board were considered, Mrs. Liljedahl and Mr. <br />Scherer, whose terms expire, have agreed to remain on the Board for an <br />additional three year term. Mr. Jaworski moved to reappoint these persons <br />to the Park Board. Seconded by Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion declared passed. <br />There are three vacancies on the P &Z - Mayor Gourley and Mrs. Schwanl; have <br />served their terms and Mr. Jum Shearen, who has one year remaining, has <br />resigned. Mr. McLean moved to reappoint Mrs, Schwankl for a three year <br />term and Mr. Ben Benson for a three year ter, Mayor Gourley asked for a <br />second three times. Mr. Jaworski seconded the motion. The motion failed. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to appont Mrs. Schwankl to the P &Z for a three year term. <br />Seconded by Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion declared passed. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to appoint Mr. Gary Barthke to a three year term on the <br />P &Z. Seconded by Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion declared passed with Mr. McLean <br />voting, No. <br />Mr. McLean moved to appoint Mr. Ben Benson to fill Mr, Shearen's one year <br />term. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. After some discussion it was suggested <br />that as there are two members of the P &Z from that area, perhaps this <br />appointment should be delayed and Mr. Charles Prokop be contacted. The <br />Council voted on Mr. Benson's appointemnt and the vote was Mr. Jaworski,. <br />and Mr. McLean, Aye; Mayor Gourley and Mrs. Elsenpeter, No. resulting in <br />a tie. <br />Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to hold this position open for further applicants. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carreid with Mr. MCLean voting, No. <br />
