February 11, 1980
61
Mayor Gourley asked if there was anyone in the audience who had a comment
- there was none.
IThe next item to be considered was the Park Board report. Mr. Schumacher
read a letter of resignation from Mr. Charles Cheesebrough. Mr. McLean
moved to accept this resignation and a letter of thanks be set to Mr.
Cheesebrough. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Schumacher discussed the action of the Council to reimburse Park Board
members and P &Z Board members for expenses - he felt that Section 6 of Ord.
No. 57A would need to be amended. Mr. Locher said as long as this is a
reimbusement for expenses, the Ordinance need not be changed.
The matter of the Park in Shenandoah was discussed. This is to be graded
and seeded. The Park Board had requested a letter of Credit from Mr. Glenn
Rehbein to insure this work is done in 1980. Mr. McLean felt the way to
start was to have Mr. Rehbein attend a Council meeting. Mr. Kulaszewicz
suggested that Mr. Rehbein be on the next Council agenda. Mr. Schumacher
was asked to arrange this matter.
Mr. Schumacher presented a copy of the investments that had been made of
the $180,000.00. This is a comparaison between what this money was invested
at and how it is now invested. Mr. Schumacher requested authorization to
make this investment. Mr. Jaworski moved to approve. Seconded by Mr.
Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously.
The Council considered employing Mrs. Mary McEathron as transcriber for
the Park Board and Planning and Zoning Board minutes. Mr. Kulaszewicz moved
to approve this employment at $4.00 per hour. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
Mayor Gourley asked for a probation period of 6 months with a minimum of
three months work before any raises are considered.
Mrs. Elsenpeterfelt that in the future the City should go with a resume'
or adopt a new application form since some of the questions asked on this
form are illegal.
The motion carried unanimously.
Mrs. Elsenpeter asked that Mr. Schumacher either revise this form or else
ask for a resume'. Mr. Schumacher thought, in some cases, both could be
required, while in others, only an application would be necessary.
The dedication of the Park in Sunset Oaks was considered. The warranty
Deed had been presented at the last Council meeting. Mr. Schumacher said
this had been checked and the legal description matches the location of the
park. He reported there are three areas in that plat of be dedicated as
parks and at this point in time, there is no definite location of the
remaining two.
Mr. McLean felt this was due to the fact that the Parks would be developed
as the plat developed and in the direction of the development.
IMr. Kulaszewicz moved to accept the deed to the tot lot in Sunset Oaks.
Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. The Clerk is to
notify the City's insurance carrier of this acquisition. This was moved by
Mr. Kulaszewicz, Seconded by Mr. Jaworski, passed unanimously.
The equipment lease covering the road grader and the front end loader was
discussed. This lease is between Mr. Edward Schwankl and the City of Lino
