December 22, 1980 <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to approve as corrected. Seconded by Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion III <br />carried with Mr. McLean abstaining. <br />On considering the disbursements, there were several questions on the list of dis- <br />bursements. Mr. McLean questioned the Carley Engineering statement. He moved to <br />withhold this, check, approving the remainder of the checks. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Al Ross asked to amend his statement in the December 8, 1980 minutes to add <br />"perhaps the City staff should meet with the Highway Department ". <br />The next item was the annual meeting to consider appointments. Mr. McLean asked <br />if all annual appointments are to be made this evening, Mayor Gourley said, Yes. <br />Mr. McLean said there had been no discussion on this . <br />The position of the Clerk- Treasurer was discussed - it was decided the reappointment <br />of this position is unneccessary. <br />Mr. McLean moved to reappoint Margie Roisum as City Assessor and to notify the Com- <br />missioner of Revenue that the City will employ its own Assessor. Seconded by Mr. <br />Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Gourley moved to reappoint Charles Cape as Civil Defense Director. Seconded <br />by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. <br />The Chair appointed Mrs. Marilyn Elsenpeter as Acting Mayor for the year 1981. <br />On considering the legal newspaper, Mayor Gourley presented letter from the Circu- <br />lating Pines and the Anoka County Shopper. There had been no response from the <br />Forest Lake Times. Mr. Jaworski moved to designate the Circulating Pines as the <br />City's legal newspaper for the year 1981. Seconded by Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion <br />carried with Mr. McLean voting, No. <br />The City Depository was considered. Mr. Lyle Muehlbauer, representing Centennial <br />State Bank, was present and made a statement as to the appreciation of that Bank for <br />the past participation of this City with that bank. <br />Mayor Gourley noted that the Lino Lakes of the First State Bank of Hugo had opened <br />for business on this date. Mrs. Elsenpeter moned to designate' this facility as the <br />official depository for the City for the year 1981. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Gourley appointed Mr. Allan Robinson as Weed Inspector for the year 1981. <br />Mayor Gourley noted that Mr. Richard Hauer - -fire marshal) -- had informed him that <br />he would not be available for that position in 1981. He had spent some time looking <br />for a replacement and presented then name of Bruce Macdonald for that position. <br />There were no objections. <br />The City Engineer was condidered in conjunction with a Memo from Mr. Schumacher. <br />Mayor Gourley suggested January 13, 1980 as a date for the review of professional <br />service agreement concerning consulting Engineering firms. Mr. Schumacher had <br />suggested that four firms be interviewed - Milner Carley being one of them. <br />
