1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 24, 1986 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called <br />to order by Mayor Benson at 7:05 P.M. Members present: Marier, <br />Bisel, Bohjanen and Reinert. City Attorney, Bill Hawkins; Ad- <br />ministrator, Randy Schumacher; Engineers, Bob Toddie and John <br />Davidson; Public Works Director, Don Volk; Building Official, <br />Pete Kluegel and Clerk - Treasurer, Marilyn Anderson were also <br />present. <br />CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES - WORK SESSION, MARCH 10, 1986 <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve these minutes as presented. Mr. <br />Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES - REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING - <br />MARCH 10, 1986 <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve these minutes as presented. Mr. <br />Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF DISBURSEMENTS - MARCH 24, 1986 <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve the Disbursements as presented. Mr. <br />Bisel seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Benson asked if the six handbooks for Council members had <br />been ordered. Mrs. Anderson said they have been ordered. <br />OPEN MIKE <br />A. Mary Hauser, Metropolitan Council Representative - Ms. Hauser <br />appeared before the Council and explained she did not come with <br />a presentation but would rather answer questions from the Council. <br />She did explain that Metropolitan Council is updating its frame- <br />work and preparing forecasts that at present indicate that there <br />will not be significant growth in the metro area. Currently the <br />state legislature is considering making Metro Council more of a <br />planning entity and taking away some of its operational powers. <br />Mayor Benson pointed out his concern regarding developers who <br />are asking that areas just outside the MUSA line be developed <br />with municipal facilities. Ms. Hauser explained that the Metro- <br />politan Council still would like to hold to a four per forty acre <br />density. The Council prefers development in a planned manner. <br />It would be more advantageous to have adjoining areas developed <br />rather than leap frog. <br />Mr. Schumacher noted that several years ago the Metropolitan <br />Council published a brief summary of happenings with Metropolitan <br />Council entitled "Brief" or something in that line. This publi- <br />cation has been discontinued making it difficult to determine <br />what is happening at Metro. Ms. Hauser suggested that the "Metro <br />Monitor" could help in this area. <br />029 <br />
