030 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 24, 1986 <br />Page Two <br />Mr. Marier asked if Ms. Hauser was aware of any funds being <br />awarded for -anything in Lino Lakes. Ms. Hauser said money has <br />been allocated for the Chain of Lakes Park but was not aware <br />•of•the dollar amount.' She told Mr. Marier she will find out <br />the amount.. <br />Mayor Benson noted the City is currently updating its Compre- <br />hensive Lanka Use Plan: This process is difficult because the <br />City is not aware of Metropolitan Councils intent for the next <br />four or five years. He asked if there were individuals who <br />could. aid the City in this area. Ms. Hauser said there are <br />people in the Comprehensive Plan. Amendment Department who <br />would be helpful.. Mr. 4Jim Shetler.will be attending the next <br />Comprehensive Plan Update Meeting. <br />Mr. Reinert asked if the Metropolitan Council has developed a <br />grant and /or loan program for solid waste management and re <br />cycling. Ms. Hauser explained that such a program is being <br />developed for abatement .programs. Municipalities are eligible <br />for participation in this program. . However, this program ad- <br />dresses abatement.not how waste is collected. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that Lino Lakes staff is currently <br />developing a compost program and the staff has attended the <br />Metropolitan Council area seminars dealing with waste abatement. <br />Mayor Benson thanked Ms. Hauser for attending this evening. <br />He explained to her that the City is developing an Economic <br />" Development Program and may peed guidance from Metropolitan <br />Council in this area. <br />1 <br />1 <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTING A MEMBER FOR THE ANOKA COUNTY JOINT LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT - COUNCIL <br />Mr. Bisel noted Mr. Andy. Neal is on the Citizen Advisory Board <br />for the medium security prison and stated this would be a com- <br />patible position. Mr. Bisel moved to appoint Mr. Neal to the <br />Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement Council. Mr. Marier seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried with Mr. Reinert voting, no. <br />Mr. Bisel moved to send .a letter to Mr. Vernon Swanson for his <br />past service on this Board. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION #86 -05, SUPPORTING <br />CONTINUATION OF REGISTRATION WITH SELECTIVE SERVICE <br />Mr. Reinert moved to adopt Resolution #86 -05. Mr. Bohjanen <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Mrs. A-nder- <br />son read the Resolution. <br />1 <br />
