128 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 23, 1986 <br />Page Twelve <br />Another area discussed at the conference was planning. What <br />does this City want to do, where do we want to be in five years <br />or ten years, and how are we going to get there. <br />Mayor Benson said he would like to set some meetings so that these <br />ideas can be discussed and expanded. Mr. Bisel felt this was a <br />good idea to exchange ideas and make plans. <br />Mr. Reinert said that he felt it would be great to take time to <br />do this. He also noted that there were some personal enrichment <br />seminars at the conference that were very good. He also told of <br />the comradery and the chances to talk to other elected officials. <br />Some communities sent some employees as well and he felt this was <br />a good idea. <br />Mr. Schumacher said he will be presenting a summary of new laws <br />passed at the last legislative session that would affect Lino Lakes. <br />Mayor Benson asked if the Council could hold an informal meeting <br />such as he was discussing. It was decided that it could be sch- <br />eduled for later in July. <br />Mr. Bisel noted the Planning and Zoning Board is planning a tour <br />of the City and would like the Council to attend. <br />Mr. Marier moved to adjourn at 9:50 P.M.
