Sign Ordinance Discussion - Mr. Schumacher noted that at the
last Council Meeting it was requested to continue the review of
the Sign Ordinance, particularly the portion pertaining to tem-
porary and portable signs. Mr. Bohjanen told the Council that he
would like to have the businesses in the City provide some input
into this matter since it has a great impact on them. He noted
two areas where businesses have expressed concern; fees and por-
table or temporary signs.
The owner of the Rice Creek Bait Shop next to the Tom Thumb Store
told the Council the fee was not an issue with him. The temporary
sign issue is a concern and felt it restricted his advertising.
He said he was not allowed to erect a permanent sign because of
his agreement with the owners of the property.
Mr. Marier moved to table this discussion until Mr. Bohjanen's con-
cerns can be answered. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion
passed unanimously. Mr. Schumacher will try to arrange to get in-
put from the Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and the Planning
and Zoning Board.
Pudwell Minor Subdivision - Mr. Kluegel explained there is a 72
foot wide strip of property on Old Birch Street located between
Mr. Floyd Pudwell's property and Mr. Dolf Lieberman's property owned
by their wives that they wish to divide in half and add each half
to their own property. The City Planner and the Planning and Zoning
Board has recommended approval of this request since it will make
Mr. Pudwell's and Mr. Lieberman's lots less non - conforming.
Mr. Bisel moved to adopt the Planning and Zoning recommendation.
Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
DISCUSSION OF LINO LAKES CONCERNS REGARDING METROPOLITAN DEVELOPMENT
FRAMEWORK
Mayor Benson explained the copy of the letter to Metropolitan
Council included in the Council packet is a result of the Special
Joint Meeting on June 4, 1986.
Mr. Marier moved to forward the letter to Metropolitan Council.
Mr. Bisel seconded the motion.
