172 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 25, 1986 <br />Page Four <br />STAFF REVIEW OF PROPOSED AMBULANCE FACILITY LOCATED IN NEW FIRE HALL <br />Mr. Schumacher explained he has been contacted by Rodney Piper of <br />Health Central who would like an opportunity to appear before the <br />Council to present a proposal for ambulance service from the fire <br />hall by Health Central. <br />Mr. Barry Mattson from District Memorial Health Services was in <br />the audience and askedthat District Memorial be given first consid- <br />eration since they made the original proposal. <br />After further discussion Mr. Marier moved to ask District Memorial <br />Ambulance Service to give the Council a schedule to implement ser- <br />vice for the next Council Meeting and if Health Central wishes to <br />make a proposal, the same schedules would be required. Mr. Bohja- <br />nen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF AUTHORIZING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS TO BE DRAFTED <br />FOR THE ADDITION AND UPGRADING OF THE FIRE HALL <br />Mr. Schumacher told the Council that State law requires that when <br />the estimated cost of an improvement exceeds $15,000.00, plans <br />and specifications are required and the project must be placed for <br />bids. The estimated cost of upgrading the proposed fire hall is <br />$27,000 to $29,000. <br />Mr. Marier moved to adopt Resolution #34 -86 authorizing the prepara- <br />tion of plans and specifications and the advertisement of bids for <br />upgrading the new fire hall. Mr. Biselseconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />Resolution No. 34 - 86 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />AND ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR AN ADDITION TO AND UPGRADING OF THE <br />CENTENNIAL DISTRICT FIRE HALL #2 IN LINO LAKES <br />1 <br />WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes has entered into a purcnase agree- <br />ment for the property located at 7731 Lake Drive for the <br />use as a fire hall, and <br />WHEREAS, It is proposed to construct an addition and upgrade the <br />present building to make this property functional as a <br />fire hall. <br />
